39 weeks appointment

I went to my 39 week appointment June 8th. This appointment was kind of interesting because when the midwife checked my cervix she measured me at less than last week. She said that I was 1.5 cm dilated, 80% effaced, and the baby is sitting at -1, but I am going with last weeks numbers 2 cm, 80% dilated, and sitting at a 0. Makes you wonder which midwife is right. Hopefully things will continue to progress, but my braxtons of slowed down a lot so I don't think she is going to come before my due date.

Baby Shower Luncheon

The wonderful women at Honey House Naturals threw me a baby shower on June 2nd. It was a lot of fun they made chicken salad on crescent rolls, spinach salad, punch and a very tasty cake with buttermilk frosting.

It was so much fun and I got lots of fun things for baby girl. Some gorgeous home made blankets, cute little socks that look like shoes, lace tights, a cute crochet hat, moccasins shoes, burp cloths and a couple cute outfits. The one gift that totally surprised me that I didn't even expect. I had been talking about saving up to get one of these for a while, but I never thought that I would be able to get one for a while. The one that I currently have is from 1925 and I have to kick start it every time I stop the machine. Everyone at work pitched in so that I can go out and by myself a brand new sewing machine. I'm not sure what kind yet but I hear Berninas and Brothers are supposed to be good.

I am so fortunate to have such wonderful co-workers and friends.

38 week appointment

I went to my appointment today. 2 weeks before my due date. Here is the update on what is happening:

I am 2 cm dilated, 70% effaced and the baby is sitting at a 0 which is a good thing because that means that she will be able to fit through my pelvic area. The midwife is predicting that the baby will be weighing in the high 7's low 8's which is a relief for me.

We are all set to go if she would just decide to come all ready. We packed our bags yesterday, and started to pack up the house for our big move. This is such an exciting time! Can't wait to see what she looks like.

Maternity Photo Shoot

Nathan and I were able to be models for a maternity photo shoot for Jennifer Wilcox about a week ago. It was a ton of fun. Not as awkward as I thought it would be showing off my bare tummy.

Here are a few of the pictures she took. What a special reminder of this magical time!

I just love these next 3:

Our Little Ray of Sunshine

Nathan and I found out that we are expecting a little girl in October we are super excited especially since the time is drawing really close now. She should be here in the next couple of weeks. It is amazing that you could love someone so much and you haven't even met them yet. We are going to deliver at St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma what a wonderful hospital that is- gorgeous view, and wonderful staff.

Baby girl which we call her at the moment is a little character. She likes to hang out on the right side, gets the hiccups all the time, and just loves Michael Jackson especially his song "Billy Jean" we were watching the documentary about his last show and she was just dancing like crazy. I can't wait to see her and to see Nathan with her, that is going to be such a special moment.

Our due date is June 12th, but she could really come anytime. At the moment I am 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced!!! We will see what my next appointment brings.

This is the first sneak peak we had of baby girl. She is 12 weeks in this sonogram. When I saw the little wiggling baby that is inside me it was such a magical moment. Although she was so tiny she was moving like crazy. It is strange to think that there is such a little miracle inside of me that is able to move all on her own.

Nathan and I were able to see her at our 20 week ultrasound appointment. At this time we were able to find out that she is a girl! Now that was a surprise because we were both convinced that the baby was a boy.

I am so excited to meet her! I have made tons and tons of things for her. I will post pics and instructions on how to make the items I have made.

Reception

We had our reception a week after we got married. I couldn't believe how absolutely beautiful everything turned out, and that it was everything I ever wanted. A big thank you to all involved in making this beautiful day happen! For those who were unable to come to our reception her is a quick peek:

Nathan and I cutting our beautiful and delicious cake. I just loved this cake. I found a picture of what I wanted online and she was able to match the pink for the reception and do the same design. I didn't want your traditional white cake, and as you can see it just turned out beautifully.

Here we are at the receiving line.

The sign in table. I made our guest book in my book arts class at school.

We found these really cool apothecary jars at Thai Pan Trading in West Jordan. Our amazing florist did these fun arrangements inside of them and they just looked gorgeous.

We had a candy table.

Our center pieces consisted of several different greens to add texture and dimension with splashes of pinks.

All the food was so yummy. We had rice krispies, brownies, cookies, cupcakes, and fruit.

Victoria, BC Canada

We spent an absolutely amazing week up on Vancouver Island in the city of Victoria. We stayed at the Hotel Grand Pacific which is walking distance from everything in downtown Victoria. The whole week was filled with a lot of amazing activities such as a trip to Butchart Gardens, a day spent on antique row and Craigdarroch Castle, shopping, dinner at Barb's on Fisherman's Warf, participating in street shows, seeing and IMAX movie, and just spending and amazing relaxing week together.

This is a really fun statue at Butchart Gardens. I just love this picture!

In front of the living sign at Butchart Gardens.

We took a walk down to Fisherman's Warf. There is a trail that goes along the harbor down to the warf where there are tons of house boats and the best fish and chips place in
Victoria.

One day we walked to Craigdarroch Castle. On the way we shopped along Antique row- we got a really pretty tea cup to remind us of our wonderful trip. Toured the castle, and went to a nearby garden.

As you can see our week was full of so much fun and so many memories. What a wonderful beginning to our marriage.
