I saw this super cute little get-away house while blog hopping the other day, and knew immediately that I totally want to build something like this when we have a house and yard of our own. It is so cute and quaint, and I can just see the kids or even Nathan and I out in the house to get away, relax, have tea parties, play house and so much more. I know it is probably a giant wish, but I just love this little house.
Eye Appointment
When Emily was a few months old it always appeared to me that her right eye was a little smaller than the other. I mentioned my concern to her pediatrician, and he referred us to see an optometrist. They found that her eyes have different strengths. A slight difference is okay but hers is over 3. We were then referred to an Ophthalmologist who came to the same conclusion. Her eyes were +6 and +2.75 he diagnosed her with Anisometropia.
We went to the pediatrician Ophthalmologist for Group Health on the 5th. It was quiet an experience. Took us forever to get to the office in Seattle, and then we were there for 2 hours right in the middle of her daily nap. I have never seen Emily that mad before. She cried the entire time, and screamed so hard we were afraid she was going to make herself sick. This doctor came to the same conclusion. Emily's eyes this time were +6.5 and +2.5(this eye also had an astigmatism). She too diagnosed Emily with Anisometropia which puts her at a risk for Amblyopia. With her next appointment in December/January Emily will end up getting glasses to prevent Amblyopia from occurring. Thankfully this next appointment they will not have to dilate her eyes but will use Teller Acuity Cards.

LDS Mariners Night
August 2nd was LDS night up at Safeco Field. We were able to go with Nathan's family, and it was so much fun. I don't know how much of the game we ended up watching but that is okay. We had a lot of fun visiting with everyone. Plus we got a free t-shirt!
We parked a good walk from the stadium, and some how we got mixed up in the direction of our car. We ended up walking to Pioneer Square, and above the Underground Seattle Museum. We were really far from the car. We finally pulled a map up on the phone, pinned where we needed to be, and started to walk again. We ended up walking completely around the stadium, and got back to the stadium as everyone else was leaving. We walked around Seattle for like an hour. Good intentions of leaving early, but on the bright side we did get a good walk in.

Gig Harbor
The last weekend in July, when my sister was here from Dallas, the family rented a beach house in Gig Harbor (It was on the opposite side over where you can see the Purdy bridge). We had so much fun. The weather was absolutely perfect- sunny the entire time. Emily had so much fun too. She never stopped moving the entire weekend.
We spent quite a bit of time outside. Emily loved to play in the water, and that first day she would not get out of the water and wanted to go in farther and sit in the water. The next couple of times she would go in the water for a little bit, but then she just wanted to have her daddy hold her the entire time. We spent a lot of time out on the deck enjoying the view, and one time we saw a bald eagle fly past. It was so crazy and cool. They are such huge birds! We couldn't pass up an opportunity to go to a park to play on the toys. This particular park was so nice. The floor was a big squishy mat, and the toys were so nice. Emily had so much fun running around with her dad in tow.
One afternoon we headed over to Downtown Gig Harbor. We played on a beach that had a view of the Narrows. Emily and I even tried to build a sandcastle. After the beach we went and had Emily's first ice cream cone ever! She loved it so much and practically ate half of Nathan's cone.
It was such a fun weekend with great people, food and activities!

1 Year Stats
Here is the update on how Emily is growing. Her 1 year stats are:
Height: 32.25 inches putting her in the 99.17%
Weight: 22lbs. 11 oz putting her in the 67.43%
It is so funny because every time the pediatrician comes in and looks at her stats he always says, "Wow, she is really tall!" It is almost as though it takes him off guard, but I have always known that she is tall because everyone we meet always says the exact same thing.
By this point Emily has been saying a few words. These words include: momma, dada, baby, cookie, wow, burp, more, soft, all gone, uh-oh, sugar, silky, no, duck, dog, George, hi, puppy, shoe, bear. She doesn't say each of these words correctly, but she has her own little way of saying them. For example cookie is co-co. It is so much fun hearing all of the new words that she says, and how she is starting to be able to communicate the things that she wants. She is so funny because at every meal she says "co-co", and even one time she said, "co-co, mo mo mo!" She takes after her daddy with a love for cookies!

Emily's Pink Room
I have finally gotten around to making Emily's room look more like a little girl's room instead of a storage room with a crib. Before I had a desk that stretched the full length of the back wall that was my crafting desk, and the wall opposite the crib was stacked with boxes. I was able to go through and get rid of a lot of stuff in her room, and now she has a little girl room that is 2/3 her own. we still have half of the desk up, and a shelving unit with boxes (mostly crafting stuff) on it. As you can see her little room is Pink! I just love how it is turning out. We moved the rocking chair in, bought curtains, and I put the paper streamer wreath that I made in a previous post up too! Now I just have to figure out what to hang above the crib- I'm thinking maybe a picture of pink flowers or something like that. I would also like to find a pink rug to add a splash of pink in that part of the room. I bet Nathan, who grew up in a family full of boys never thought he would have a room that was PINK!
