Zoo

On Labor Day we made Emily's first trip to the Point Defiance Zoo. It was a lot of fun, but boy was it a hot day which made for not as many animals out. They were all hiding trying to keep cool in the shade. Since Emily didn't really know what she was looking for if it wasn't right in the front she got bored really quickly. She just loved the monkeys, the walrus because it made tons of noise, and the seals- we were lucky enough to get there when they were feeding them, and they did all sorts of tricks.

I was really hoping Emily would get a little more excited about the monkeys because her favorite books to read are Curious George. Once they started to walk around with their arms in the air and swing from things she perked up a little bit.

I think Emily's favorite animal was the walrus. They kept swimming around and then would poke their heads up out of the water and blow air out of their mouth and make noise. That really caught her attention and she would smile every time they came up.

Emily really like the whales, and the other swimming animals. I think she liked how they swam so close to the glass and she was able to get an up close look.

We couldn't go to the zoo and not get the traditional picture in the shark's mouth or

A picture in the outhouse!

Poor little thing was so tuckered out from a long day at the zoo. She fell asleep as soon as the car started to move!
