Winter Storm 2012

In the middle of January we had a huge snow storm that turned into freezing rain. It was really fun to have snow for a few days (I always enjoy the snow when it is fresh, pure white and no footsteps in it. It is so magical and beautiful). It started out with a few snow storms that unfortunately turned into a huge ice storm. There was so much ice on everything which made the power go out. We were fine for the first night. Our parents power had gone out, and ours did not go out until the next morning when all of the branches and trees had broken and fallen over. On our street we for a while watching branches falling left and right. We also had a tree fall across the road. Nathan and the neighbors got to help the fire department clear the tree which was kind of fun, and then we headed up to my parents' house because they had power. Fortunately my parents had power for the rest of the storm, and we were able to stay with them until our power came on 55 hours later.

We had so much fun spending time during the power outage. Unfortunately it did mean that Nathan has to use PTO because Comcast's power was out, and even though he braved it out and made it to work only having to turn around and come home.
