Pig Tails
I have always loved how adorable little girls look when they have little pig tails in their hair. I was so excited when Emily's hair was long enough to be able to wear pig tails.
Do the Puyallup
What an experience at the fair this year. It started out really well, and as the night went Emily just started to get overwhelmed/stimulated and I ended up having to carry her the entire time. The only thing that saved us was a beanie baby booth where we bought her 3 dogs. She really loved the animals especially the cows. There were some really loud ones because they were just weened and every time they mooed she would turn towards them so fast. We didn't get to see a whole lot of the fair, but by the end it was time to go. Emily was so mad and she screamed so loud and writhed around the entire walk back to the car and the entire car ride home. I have not seen her that mad in a long time.
After the fair we got McDonald's and Emily had her very first experience with french fries. She was gobbling those down. Loved them so much!

When we first saw the baby chicks Emily went up to the window and slammed her hands on the glass.
She thought the llamas were so cool!
So excited to be at the fair!
We had to for sure get a sample of chocolate milk at the Dairy Barn
At one of the booths there were these little dogs that barked and moved around. Emily LOVED them.
mmm... so good!
Here she is with her 3 doggies that she loves so much.
No More Binky
Around September 12th or so Emily decided that she didn't want to use her binky anymore. She used to be so dependent upon it, and had it in her mouth 24/7. I could not believe how easy it was to get her transitioned over to no binky! She woke up one day and decided she didn't want to have anything to do with them anymore. I really don't mind it is one less thing I have to worry about keeping track of. The only problem that we ended up having with her refusing her bink is that she didn't know how to soothe herself and she would cry and cry and need to be rocked to sleep. Then she would wake up the instant you moved or laid her down in her crib. We ended up breaking out good ol' Mormon Tabernacle Choir. It took her a few days to get used to falling asleep without needing to be rocked but thankfully she is all back to her normal sleeping ways now. She surprises me more and more every day.
Belly Dancer Emily
I have a hip scarf that has the coins sewn on it and Emily just loves it. I put it on her the other day at my parents house and she danced and jingled around for the longest time. I don't know what it is about things that make noise and jingle, but Emily goes nuts over them!

Crab
Labor Day night we had a crab feast over at the Gray's. It was my first experience eating real crab and having to crack it all myself. It was really fun and actually tasted pretty good. I have to say that I picked it up pretty quickly and was able to get the meat out pretty well. Emily wasn't too excited about the crab as you can see, but it has been a long day at the zoo. Mmmm! So Yummy!

Zoo
I was really hoping Emily would get a little more excited about the monkeys because her favorite books to read are Curious George. Once they started to walk around with their arms in the air and swing from things she perked up a little bit.
I think Emily's favorite animal was the walrus. They kept swimming around and then would poke their heads up out of the water and blow air out of their mouth and make noise. That really caught her attention and she would smile every time they came up.
Emily really like the whales, and the other swimming animals. I think she liked how they swam so close to the glass and she was able to get an up close look.
Emily and Grampys in the shark exhibit
We couldn't go to the zoo and not get the traditional picture in the shark's mouth or
A picture in the outhouse!
Poor little thing was so tuckered out from a long day at the zoo. She fell asleep as soon as the car started to move!

Happy Birthday Nathan!
Back in August Nathan turned 31. We were able to celebrate by having a nice relaxing day together. We got nachos from Taco Bell and spent the afternoon at the park. It was a hot one so it was mostly spent in the shade. Later that night we went to the Mongolian Grill with Nathan's parents, and then had everyone over for cheesecake. Such a fun day to be celebrating my sweethearts Birthday. I love him so much and hope you knows how much he means to me.
