Emily girl got her glasses yesterday. We initially had a hard time getting her to put them and to even touch them, but her Auntie Kirsten was able to get her to wear them for an entire hour! Then this morning she wore them for an hour and a half and then for another half hour. We still have a hard time getting her to put them on, but once they are on she will leave them alone.

Ezekiel!
I am so excited because after a long long wait to start their family my sister and her husband got a call a few weeks ago letting them know that a 2.5 year old little boy was up for adoption and they were picked to get him! On Feb 16th they made the long drive to North Carolina to be to the lawyer's office by 10 o'clock the next morning where they signed the papers and picked up Ezekiel. After the long weekend they finally got the call that they could leave North Carolina to head home, and as of the 24th he is theirs! He is such a cute, active, smart little guy. I can't wait to see him, and have the two E's play together. Such a long wait full of heartache, but I think this little guy was worth the wait.
The Sweetest Words
Emily is such a sweet, cute little girl. It has been so much fun to see her grow and especially to watch her as she learns more words and to put sentences together. Lately whenever she says something directed towards me she will say "Thank you Momma" or "Welcome, Momma" and even "Funny, Momma". I just love the way she says it too. She has such a soft, cute, little girl voice. I can't wait to hear what other fun things she learns how to say.

Eye Doctor Update
We went to the eye doctor on February 16th to check up on Emily's eyes. The prescription is the same. Boy am I glad that I got her records from the other doctor because he took those numbers and compared them. He didn't have to start from scratch. I sure wish that when you are waiting to see the doctor that they would expedite your wait time if you have little kids because by the time you get them to be good in the wait room they are just about done with the doctor's office by the time you get back there for them to be seen. Dr. Shields was really nice and really explained everything well. We will be going to get a pair of glasses for Emily soon. Hopefully she will like them and wear them the way she should. I will post pics of her as soon as we get her glasses.
Valentine's Day
I don't know why with every holiday I always seem to bite off more than I can chew. I want to do so many fun things for Nathan and Emily. I guess I might just have to learn to manage my time a little better and not procrastinate. This year for Valentine's Day Nathan and I went out to eat the week before to beat the rush and the weekend. We went to Red Lobster and did their 4 course meal for $15.
On the actual day we stayed home and cooked up butternut squash raviolis, white prawns and carrots with Martineli's and Nathan got a red velvet cake from Costco. So yummy! Nathan is so cute he got me a dozen red roses and a box of chocolates. He also got Emily a cute necklace with white and black diamonds on it. We will have to wait until she is a bit bigger for her to wear it, but she loved it. I tried to make Nathan a book made out of a deck of cards with 52 reasons I love you. This is what took me a while during the day, and I didn't get it finished in time to give it to him that day. (This is where I needed to not procrastinate.) It was so nice to have a nice, relaxing day home with the guy I love.

14 Days of Valentines
This year in preparation for Valentine's Day I decided to do the 14 days of Valentine's. I saw a tutorial for it on Pinterest, and I couldn't help myself. I had so much fun putting it together and finding different places that each day Nathan would be surprised with.
Day 1: The first day was so much fun. I had finally convinced myself that I was going to do it this year, and so I made up the label and did a box of hot tamales. I put them by his pillow so that when he turned down the sheets he would see them. When I came into the room he was standing there with the cutest look on his face. One filled with excitement, surprise and love.
Day 2: This day I decided to put his surprise in the fridge. It was a soda, and I waited until he was home to finish making dinner so that he could get some of the ingredients for me out of the fridge.
Day 3: I had a baby shower that I needed to go to so I snuck out the next days surprise, and when I got back home I put it on the seat of his car.
Day 4: This day was a box of mints hidden
Day 5: I hid a bag of swedish fish in the pantry so that he would find it when he made his lunch.
Day 6: On this day I hid a bag of peanuts in Nathan's underwear drawer.
Day 7: We decided to celebrate Valentine's Day a little bit early by going out to eat at Red Lobster and getting their four course meal deal for $15. We had such a wonderful time out together. For this day I put a box of Honey Combs on the bathroom counter- I had to sneak out to the bathroom after Nathan had come to bed.
Day 8: I handed a bag of orange sticks to Nathan.
Day 9: I put a bag of trail mix propped up on the hanging clothes in the closet so Nathan would come across it when he got ready for his church meetings.
Day 10: Right before Nathan came home from work I slipped a bag of apple chips by the front door.
Day 11: I looked all over the place for the Dorritos that have two flavors in one bag, but nobody carries them anymore. I'm guessing they must not make them anymore. So, instead I did chips and salsa, and put them on the couch.
Day 12: Chocolate covered cinnamon bears placed on the couch (I sort of forgot to do Sunday so we had to double up one day).
Day 13: A bottle of yummy banana coloda Fuze! I put it on the mantel next to the TV.
Day 14: Valentine's Day! The last day was a bottle of Martinelli's and I placed it on the dinner table.

Money, Money, Money
One day I went to the Goodwill, and I found the cutest piggy bank ever! It is a princess piggy with a crown and tutu! That night we brought out the change that we have and Emily went wild 'feeding' her piggy. Everywhere we go we keep an eye out for pennies so Emily can feed her piggy. Every time we find a penny Emily gets so excited and runs into her room saying "feed piggy!" Luckily most of the time when we walk around the block we find a penny or two. Emily gets to feed her piggy a few times a week. It is so much fun!
